Artsy Couture Gallery Canvas Product Review
+ $100 CYBER MONDAY SHOP CREDIT CONTEST (BE SURE TO READ TO THE BOTTOM OF THE POST)
A while back I was approached by Artsy Couture with an offer to review some of their product. Upon reviewing their website, I was impressed the most with their gallery canvases. They carry other items such as the photo gallery blocks which look great too. But this time, I ended up choosing to get their canvases so that I could hang a couple more photos in my studio. A tip to remember when choosing images to print on canvas or in print, make sure that the photo you are choosing a high quality image. For example, a cell phone snapshot probably won’t look as amazing on anything printed over a 5×7 if we’re being honest. Choose images that are from a professional quality camera, have good coloring and are in focus and sharp in order to get the best looking product. I sent along a few samples of my work to Cate (the brand manager I was chatting with) and asked for suggestions on which to print. Of course, she chose both of these super adorable sets of siblings having fun and I couldn’t agree more. So off to print they went! Not long at all after, these gorgeous beauties showed up (very well packaged I might add!) on my back porch. I was in love! The canvases themselves feel so sturdy!! I know now that is because their canvases aren’t stretched around a hollow frame. They’re professionally mounted to a solid wood structure, which means they are guaranteed to never sag or warp. And they mean business. They are solid! The boys canvas is a 5×7. The girls is an 8×10. You can see the difference on how different sizes will take off more around the edges. The 8×10 took quite a bit more. But if you upgraded that to an 11×14 or the 20×30, you wouldn’t lose nearly as much of the actual image around the edges. The color match to these images are spot on as well. I am in shock that it matches my original prints so well. Here are my original images I sent Artsy.Other qualities of the Artsy canvases that I am really impressed with are… Sharpness of the images themselves are great. The corners of both canvases are pulled and kept very tight and neat. All edges are perfectly straight. They come ready to hang with a hanger on the back. Even the back of the canvases look tidy and pretty. There are no messy bumps on the back from the canvas being pulled across and everything is tucked just so to ensure that the canvas hangs perfectly against your wall. Upon reading on their website, I was also happy to discover that they treat every canvas with a UV coating, making them resistant to fading over time. Apparently they can also be wiped clean easily with just a damp cloth! Anyone with kids knows how important this easy to clean feature is. The canvases found their new home in my studio next to some other amazing vendors. Love my little photo wall (including some snapshots of my own family on there!). I think I need to order some more Artsy canvases or maybe their cube decor or print wraps.Along with Artsy Couture’s current product offerings, they are expanding their product line to include Wood Wraps, bulk USB purchasing, and a few other items that will launch in 2018. They just added their Foil Print Cards to their website and they look amazing… and just in time for you to go printing all of your Christmas cards with your most recent BWP family photo session too.
Artsy is going above and beyond and being absolutely incredible by giving away $100 in Artsy Lab credit for ONE of you lucky readers!!! This means that you could order one large 24×36” canvas or multiple canvases’ in smaller sizes (Artsy Courture offers 15+!)!! I’m only a teensy bit jealous… okay quite a bit. POPULAR FALL 2017 FASHION | WHAT TO WEAR KIDS FALL PHOTOS: PART 2: BABIES & CHILDREN
I know you’re ready for Part 2 of my What to Wear Kids Fall Photos series!!! If you haven’t already, be sure to check out Part 1 of the What to Wear Fall Series: Dress Mom First
We all love to dress our little ones up. The problem comes in I think, when we try to make everyone look good not only by themselves, but TOGETHER. So how do we get that great, everyone’s outfits are “flowing” and not too “matchy matchy” look? And where exactly does everyone get these super cute outfits for their littles that don’t cost a small fortune plus your first born?!
Step 1: Like colors!! Remember that amazing outfit you picked out for yourself? Pull some colors out of that and be on the lookout for clothing in the same color scheme for your little ones. PS – Don’t be afraid to add color! Kids are fun, dress them to portray that!!!Step 2: Coordinate, Just say no to matchy matchy!! When I was a kid, my Mom (I love her!) used to occasionally dress my younger sister and I in the same outfit, but different colors. Please for the love of everything, don’t do this to your kids. LOL! I mean, okay yeah, sometimes it’s cute… but maybe not for family photo sessions. Pretty please just trust me on this. Your kids will thank you in the future. Promise! Coordinate with like colors and ones that go together. I mean, look how adorable these kids look from some of last year’s Fall sessions! Perfection!Step 3: Layers! This step is possibly even more important with planning the kid’s wardrobes. Going along with the previous Part 1 of this series, kids are hot, and then they’re cold, and then they’re miserable if you can’t fix the problem in .2 seconds. I know, I’ve been there in that situation as well. Ugh! So, why not plan ahead? Have some layer options that you are willing to allow them to take off if necessary for one or two photos.Step 4: Accessorize those kids! Hats, headbands, bow ties, boots… you can even throw some fun sunglasses in for one or two photos!
Some of my favorite Etsy shops for headbands are…
Her Joyful Studio
The Polka Dot Bow Co

Anddddddd…. let’s not forget the number one rule when dressing kids: COMFORT! If your child is not comfortable, they will not be happy, which means photo time is going to be difficult on everyone! Keep ’em comfy and happy parents! 😉

Dover Ohio Maternity Photographer | Over the Moon
Justin and Hannah were seriously so amazingly easy-going and great to work with during their maternity session (and newborn session too – more to come with that post at a later date I’m sure!). When filling out their questionnaire, all they requested were trees/greenery to reflect how much they love the outdoors and being together doing “outdoorsy” things… and that they could bring their two fur-babies, Tuco and Arya. I think we were successful!
And towards the end of this Norma Johnson Center maternity session, they saw the moon peeking out in the sky and mentioned that baby Roman’s nursery theme is space themed! Of course we had to get that moon in the photo too.© Brandi Williamson Photography | Dover Ohio Maternity Photographer | Tuscarawas County Newborn Photographer | Baby’s First Year Photographer serving Canton, Dover (44622) New Philadelphia (44663) OH and surrounding areas in Tuscarawas County, Stark County and Northeast Ohio | Want to schedule your own session? POPULAR FALL 2017 FASHION | WHAT TO WEAR FOR FALL PHOTOS: PART 1: DRESS MOM FIRST
This is part 1 of a series of 2 posts coming at you to help you in your endeavor on looking absolutely perfect for those Fall photos! Never wonder what to wear for those Fall photos again!
So let me guess, do you normally buy super cute clothing for your babies and then style the rest of everyone’s wardrobe around them? Do you then spend so much time picking apart your own outfit and want to rip your hair out afterwards? Well let me tell you a secret…. shhhhhh… are you ready for this?
…. I pick my own outfit first! I want to be comfortable. Let’s face it, if Momma’s not feeling amazing in her outfit, she’s not going to love the photos because she will spend that time picking herself apart. … I mean, I’m not wrong, right?
So what do we do about this? Look through your closet first, know what makes you feel amazing. Go shopping for those “wham, bam, thank you ma’am” I am the bomb-diggity in this, extra pieces.
Need some help? Okay let’s get started…
Step 1: Wardrobe Staples! What style makes you feel amazing? Jeans? Simple? Dressy? Flowy? Hippie? You know we all have that one style. Go with that! Don’t go so far out of your comfort zone that you are picking at yourself the entire session. You probably already have some staples in your closet! Run and go check! Do you have your favorite pair of pants that fit you just right? Maybe the perfect cute little dress? Or a top that just makes you feel like you’re ready to take on the world!Step 2: Put an out fit together! Have some fun with this one!! This step can also be broken down into a few additional steps if we’re really getting picky…
(1) Color: Choose a Fall-like color that you want as your statement color. You’ll use this throughout the wardrobe planning for the entire family. You don’t want the color head to toe, but subtle pops of color scattered throughout is perfect. Some great choices for Fall would be mustard yellow/goldenrod, navy blue, maroon and even purple. Go with those deep colors for the full Fall look. You want to stay away from neon colors. These don’t photograph well and usually will leave weird color casts on skin and other light colored clothing.
(2) Patterns: This one can get tricky. You want a little variety in there, but woah! Hold up! You don’t want too many patterns in the family wardrobe because your eye won’t know where to look and people will be so busy looking at the different patterns, they may not see the adorable facial expressions your littles are giving! You also don’t want too many stripes/polka dots/more stripes/flowers/etc because the overall effect can end up clashing and you won’t end up with that flowy gorgeous Fall look you were going for. Remember, when in doubt, put 1-2 people in some statement prints and keep everyone else fairly simple, while adding in some color and texture in their outfits.
(3) Layers: Keep in mind, it’s Fall, layers are key to nailing the “what if’s” regarding the question, “Will it be hot? Or cold?” Plus, how fun is that adorable jacket or that scarf?!
Step 3: Shoes! Ooooooo yeah! We all love shoes. Most important thing to factor in here, where are you getting your photos taken at? Are you able to comfortably walk in these shoes? Will you be standing on grass for most of your session? Also, shoes can be a great way to add a pop of color that you can tie in elsewhere as well.Step 4: Accessories!!!: Accessorizing can really complete your entire outfit. Keep it simple with a couple of bracelets… Add in that perfect necklace (pair it well with the neckline of your shirt!)… And maybe even some earrings. Go glam or keep it low key. Remember, you want to feel amazing on picture day!Okay so now YOU should be all set for your close up… Stay tuned for Part 2: Dressing the babies and kids! This one will include some of my favorite stores to shop at for the little ones.
… Just for fun, here are some of my past sessions that I believe have nailed it at wardrobe! (sidenote: This does not include everyone, just some personal favorites – please nobody take offense!)
